American Idol: Mowtown

LIVE BLOG ALERT!! UPDATING ON COMMERCIALS, AS ALWAYS!

Its back!! I'm so thrown off with Idol being on a day late, but at least its here! Not sure how I feel about Motown, but I'm game, let's go!

1. Matt. Let's Get It On. I can't stop looking at the mole on his forehead now that someone pointed it out to me last week. I enjoy this song. Remember last season when a dude dedicated it to his mom?? I would like him to take a week off from the piano .... never mind - he just stood up. I can't help but still feel like he wants to be Justin Timberlake. Well, that was a pleasant start to the show. My favorite performance by Matt so far this season!

* Randy's shirt ... "loud" would be an understatement.
* Kara has good hair tonight.
* Ah good, my man Simon is back in black!

2. Kris. How Sweet It Is .... This boy is a doll. I can root for him as long as he doesn't do better than my Adam. Okay Idol people - we need to fix the microphone feedback issues!! I can't help but picture American Pie when I hear this song. I just wanna stop, and let my hand catch up to my thoughts. Less Mraz this week, but still really fun to watch and listen to. God job, cutie patootie!

* I don't get why people rip on Kara. I think I like her. She kicks Paula's ass, that's for damn sure!

3. Scott. Can't Hurry Love. I am over him. I know it for sure now. Does his nasally tone remind anyone else of 80's George Michael or something similar? I feel like his music got peppy but his singing didn't join the tempo change. But hey - he has back up dancers. That's cool ... I guess?

* Holy canoli - check out Paula's ring! That's even bigger than my Titanic/Vegas ring. Wow!
* Simon - THANK YOU!! See? Simon and I DO share thoughts!! Obviously Simon Cowell is a smart man - for now.

4. Meagan. For Once In My Life. How long is this chick (notice the bird reference!) going to be on and continue to torture me?? What is with this hideous wooden necklace? I can't even discuss her singing. Her voice is unlike anything I've heard before - and unlike anything I want to hear again. Are those feathers in her hair? Oh no, is she going to make bird noises again? I want to say something nice here .... nice lipstick?

5. Anoop. Ooh Baby, Baby. Ugly jacket first off. His voice is nice tonight. Better than his Michael Jackson week performance! This song is boring though. Nothing is really "wowing" me, and, to talk like the judges, I find parts to be a bit "pitchy."

* I'm hungry. My multi-tasking and running around to keep up is exhausting. I mean I have to go a room and a half away to type this! Sheesh.

6. Michael. He always looks happy to be performing. I like that. Wow - his face is super animated. I don't know this song. He's doing a lot of that growling type thing that I don't really understand. I mean A LOT! And a lot of kicking his leg out. Didn't like the ending. Too long on a bad note and then overboard on the run. He does look nice though - that's the standard compliment when they don't sing well, right? Oh my - he's about to cry. Poor guy. :(

7. Lil. A "singing the phone book" comment before she even performs?? Notice she isn't hyped in the press anymore like she used to be? WOW - extension? weave? WOW. I saw her dress and thought Roaring 20s. I am sure she could be really good but she just yells. Imagine paying to see her in concert and hearing 90 minutes of this constant shouting. I'd be miserable. She's out of breath - well yeah - you just went crazing screaming the song!

* Paula is mental. This performance was not "fresh".

8. Adam Lambert! Finally! The moment we've all been waiting for is here!! Oh something slow? Fun! We all know I'll love it no matter what! And here we go ...I wonder how long it took to get his hair like that! This is so fun. Can't wait to hear how my mom will try to dis this! I miss the eyeliner though, Adam darling. Seriously - unbiased, of course - he is hitting his notes better than anyone else tonight! Zac Efron - his hair looks like Zac in Hairspray - or so I saw on ads for that movie. Adam is just so cute!! Fantastic, as always! And Simon has my back!! And yet another Adam Lambert song to add to my iTunes playlist!

EVERYBODY GET READY TO VOTE!!! Okay, fine. I know, I know, I'm probably the one one I know that actually votes anymore. But its Adam. And he was just amazing, how can you not vote??? Here's the number again ....

9. Danny. I guess I'll continue to blog, even though Adam is done. ;-) Moms and sentimental women are happy now. Very energetic tonight. Is it me, or is he on the verge of yelling like Lil did? It almost feels manic. If we could pass out some sedatives that would be swell.

10. Allison. She freaks me out. She just seems too "hard" for a 16 year old girl. Is this what 16 year old girls are like in 2009? I hate those 1/2 jackets. (Sorry to those of you that have them.) Good singer - I'm just going to pretend that she is 26 instead! Horrendous outfit overall though. Really.

*How much do I love that Simon just drew a mustache on Paula?
