Planning a TITANIC Vegas Trip

Kim may have reference Titanic in her blog today so now I can't stop thinking about it even though I just watched it this past weekend.... again. I'm obsessed with it. Heck, if you scroll down on the sidebar you'll see me with my dear gays, Mike & "Sparky" (Clark) on the Grand Staircase. I can't get enough of it. I can't tell you how many documentaries I own about it. I have 3 copies of the movie (1 VHS, 2 DVD). I WILL be at the 3-D version on opening day even if I have to go alone. I was obsessed before the movie, and then it came out starring my favorite actress and the "I can't stop staring at your mouth" Leonardo DiCaprio (is it just me? Am I the only one that stares at his mouth? I saw Romeo & Juliet in the theater SEVEN times and couldn't stop gazing at him.) -- well, the movie only fed my obsession.

I've been to the exhibit... um, 4 times? On what would have been a 5th time we got there and they said the line was closed, even though we were 30 minutes before closing. Lame. Anyhoozy, in less than 2 months I'll be staring at the "Big Piece" - a HUGE chunk of Titanic's hull that was recovered from the wreck. I actually met and have a book autographed by a historian that was there when the piece was brought up! Oh no, I don't stalk this ship at all. But I can tell you this, if I ever do win a mass amount of money the very first thing I'm going to do is book myself a trip down to the actual ship. You can. I've already looked into it.

So what else does one do while not stalking the Titanic exhibit for the eleventy-thousandth time? I came up with some options. My travelling companion for this trip has never been to fabulous Las Vegas. Do you think she'll just be really wow'd if I present some of these options to her?

I can tell you we WILL be doing one of those .... and I imagine it isn't hard to guess which one. The rodeo, of course! Okay, totally NOT the rodeo. Seriously, NO Freaking Way!  The MJ thing could be cool. But then I'm not really feeling like getting show tickets this time. And Big Elvis?? Heck yeah, it is free and at the casino with the karaoke and 99 cent margaritas. I can tell you I am making a mental note of this and if I can get there, I will! Barry Manilow - I'd totally see him... with my mom. Ssh. And Stripper 101? Yeah, I don't see my friend doing that one ... but ya never know!

One place I WILL be, aside from running down the Strip, is at Freezone. With cookies and presents and dollar bills in hand. Are you going to be down there? Wanna hit the drag show with me??

*** AMENDMENT!!!  I just clicked purchase - Jessica and I ARE going to see the Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil show. YES!!!***   .... does the moon walk, spins in a circle, grabs crotch while up on her toes.

  3. so i RARELY admit this to people- i used to spend HOURS in Titanic Chatrooms on aol. I would meet new people and we all shared pictures, videos, and sound clips from the movies- DORKS. I had 76 posters of Leonardo DiCaprio in my room- I even made collages from all his different movies.

  5. My dad is a huge history buff and loves to read anything about the Titanic. When the movie came out, Dad and I went to see it at the theater. A bit awkward, but oh well.

Michael Jackson Cirque? What will they think of next?!
