I was shopping during my afternoon break and spotted something that just screamed "RUNNER!" at me as I walked by. Nothing fancy, but something that I thought would be cute and fun to get as a sort of THANK YOU to all of you awesome fellow bloggers that continually show me support and give me great advice on this crazy adventure called running!
As soon as I got off work I hurried back to the store, cash in hand, and purchased this awesome coffee cup that I want to give to one of you! And I'm making this so easy. I'm not even giving bonus entries for sharing this giveaway on blogs, Twitter or facebook ... because I want it to go to YOU!
I know some people just enter once. Some like to take advantage and play the odds with many ways to enter. SO, I'll make it easy and give you a few options! (Post a new comment for each entry for them all to count!)
- *Mandatory* (I'm laughing and only making it mandatory because every giveaway is this way): You have to follow me! Worship me! Read my blog!
- Share with me your go-to morning beverage of choice for another chance to win.
- I'm needing fresh music. What's your number one running song these days? Tell me for another entry!
- Post as a comment any little trick or power move you use when racing to pull out of a tough moment and regain your "stride".
- And last, but certainly not least, share a running lesson that you've "learned the hard way" via running. Did you have a terrible chaffing incident that you still shudder when thinking about? Did you try the wrong GU and suffer for it later? Any sort of lesson that I can learn from - or laugh
atwith .... share it for one more entry!
Five options .... and if you have some rad reason why you should get a bonus 6th entry, then just go ahead, be brave and post it! Be creative. Humor me while I read every one's comments!
I'll pick the winner Monday, May 23 early in the morning. Happy Running - don't break your stride! Good luck!
I worship, I mean follow you! Okay, both if you want.
ReplyDeleteMy go to beverage is water, but I frequently end up succumbing to the free hot chocolate machine at work.
ReplyDeleteAt the moment I'm using podrunner for music.
ReplyDeleteMy power move when I'm running, is to focus on the now - if I look too far ahead, I can get discouraged.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I learned the hard way that events can have different starting lines. At my first half, I cheered the 5 and 10k runners on at their respective starts, then waited for my race. Then time passed and I didn't see anyone else around and that seemed odd. But I didn't have my watch and thought maybe I was just misjudging how much time had passed.
ReplyDeleteI started my race 20 minutes late! Thank goodness for chip timing.
What fun! That's a great mug! Well I've got #1 covered - obviously, it's why I'm here reading!
ReplyDeleteMorning beverage - coffee! More specifically Starbucks Cafe Verona (brewed at home, I'm not rich by any means) with coffeemate fat free liquid creamer and splenda.
My go to song lately has been "Remember the Name" by Fort Minor - it's PERFECT.
Hmmm... a trick...if I'm really struggling I usually pull out my iPod and start flipping through til I find a super motivational or just super fun song and that gets me pumped again.
Extremely valuable (kinda almost gross) lesson: Do not fall asleep after running a half still in your running clothes. My sports bra STUCK to me while I slept and left me with little circular wounds underneath my boobs from the strap on the bra. THEN I ran 15 in the same bra the following weekend - resulting in SEVERE chafe! I am scarred.
how cute is that?! And very nice of you to think of all of us! :) I follow!!
ReplyDeleteFollowing you cause you are awesome!
ReplyDeleteNo Added Sugar Hot Cocoa. Hey, there is calcium in it...
ReplyDeleteOn, no! I don't have a song because I don't run to music unless you count the amazing bird song of a spring morning.
ReplyDelete"Soft is strong." That reminds me to relax and then I start moving faster!
ReplyDeleteHard lesson. Olive Garden before a marathon when I had not had it during training. Oh boy! That was a very bad marathon!
ReplyDeletego to beverage of choice is milk or water ;) in the winter... hot chocolate... yummm!
ReplyDelete"marry me" by train lol... it just happens to play alot these days... seeing as i'm 39 days away from my wedding ;)
ReplyDeleteI picture myself running strong and I engage my core if I feel like I'm dragging or slumping... speed up and then slow down a little to change things up a little bit... giving someone a high five usually does the trick too ;)
ReplyDeleteA lesson I've learned the hard way... do NOT overtrain because it does more harm than good!! You need rest days!!
ReplyDeletenumber 6... I should get an extra entry because I actually had enough will power to NOT watch the finale of NCIS tonight because I had to study for a big test in the morning... seriously... that takes A LOT of sheer will power!! I have no idea how I did it! ;) lol... it did help knowing that it will be on hulu and I can watch it as soon as my test is over ;)

ReplyDeleteMy morning drink is milk or water (w/ or w/o nuun). Thats usually all I drink - ever. Unless I'm sick, then I'll throw in some OJ
ReplyDeleterunning songs - anything linkin park or afi.
ReplyDeleteMy trick is thinking about my sister & dad (both passed away) - I have to do it for them.
ReplyDeleterunning lesson - STRETCH. I used to just run because I loved it & didn't do anything else. But I was ALWAYS injured. So now I take a lot more care of my body with stretching & foam rolling.
ReplyDeletemy brave entry - my nickname is Kiley Wong Chong - not because I'm Asian, not because of Cheech & Chong...just because my family thought it would rock. And it does!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, sweet mug. I posted this on my blog!
I follow you!! (and admire you)
ReplyDeleteI have been a follower!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy go to morning beverage is almond milk. I like it much better than regular milk and it's got more protein/less fat.
ReplyDeleteMy go-to morning beverage?
ReplyDeleteI am so fickle and don't have a single go-to morning beverage. On the weekends, I like a few cups of coffee and freshly juiced juice.
On the weekdays, a pack of Emergence-C + water.
I have bad taste in music.
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite: Britney Spears "Stronger"
My current number one running song is We No Speak Americano by Yolanda Be Cool and DCup. It's a techno-ish song but it's got a nice beat to it.
ReplyDeleteRunning Lesson:
ReplyDeleteOnly fart when there's a lot of people cheering, band playing. That way, no one hears you and there will be too many people to pin point who's the farter.
I deserve a bonus 6th entry because I am YOUR TWIN!
ReplyDeleteNow, show some preferential treatment!!!!!
My running trick: QUIT and you'll instantly lose any bragging rights. Quit and you will have some explaining to do to your blog followers. Quit now and you'll have to walk ALL the way to the finish!
ReplyDeleteMy power move is to think about how far I've already come in my running and know that I can go a few more feet
ReplyDeleteOne running lesson I have learned is that wearing the right sports bra is a must. otherwise you will most definitely chafe and even possibly bleed. Runner's nipple....Ouch.
ReplyDeleteI follow you.
ReplyDeleteI start out my day with a cup of coffee.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... music... I like classic rock and have been on a big Foreigner kick lately. I recommend "Juke Box Hero" and "Hot Blooded."
ReplyDeleteIf I'm struggling during a race, I think about how great I will feel once I finish running, and that usually motivates me to keep moving. I also think about the delicious meal and beer I will consume afterward. :)
ReplyDeleteI got a migraine during a run after taking a Clif Shot that contained caffeine. Never doing that again!
ReplyDeleteI pretty much stalk you, all the time :D
ReplyDeleteCoooooffffffeeeeeeeeeee
ReplyDeleteOn my "Run FAST" playlist: Story of my Life, Social D.
ReplyDeleteAnytime I'm having a tough time in a race, I think about Gab. Treatments and chemo have got nothing on running for a little while :D
ReplyDeleteThe first time I tried ShotBlok's on a run = pukefest. Awful. Just because it works hiking doesn't mean it's going to work running :)
ReplyDeleteFine...I worship you!
ReplyDeleteC.O.F.F.E.E.
ReplyDeleteperiod.
Pretender by Foo Fighters.
ReplyDelete1. I follow your ass off.
ReplyDelete2. Share with me your go-to morning beverage
ReplyDeleteCoffee these days. It helps me poop.
3. I'm needing fresh music. What's your number one running song these days? Tell me for another entry!
ReplyDeleteI don't run with music. So, um, classic Rose Running Song: NoFX's The Decline. It's like, 18 minutes long.
4. Post as a comment any little trick or power move you use when racing to pull out of a tough moment and regain your "stride".
ReplyDelete"It's only ________ more miles. ANYONE can run _________ miles" (even if I'm lying to myself.)
5. And last, but certainly not least, share a running lesson that you've "learned the hard way" via running. Did you have a terrible chaffing incident that you still shudder when thinking about? Did you try the wrong GU and suffer for it later? Any sort of lesson that I can learn from - or laugh at with .... share it for one more entry!
ReplyDeleteDo not eat trail mix before a run. I learned this from my brother, twice. He almost shat himself. Twice. Once, he made it to a port-o-potty in time. The second time he dropped trow in the woods, because he had about 30 seconds before he was going to explode, and no bathroom in sight.
I follow you :D
ReplyDeleteMy go-to morning drink? Any type of coffee! I don't care if it's 2 hours cold, I'll heat that stuff up in the microwave! (I don't prefer it that way, of course, but desperate times call for desperate measures!)
ReplyDeleteCurrent running song: "Give me Everything" by Pitbull.
ReplyDeleteWhen I need to do something to kick myself in gear, I start swinging my arms more to pull myself along.
ReplyDeleteAn incident that happens to me often is that I'll drink nothing but coffee all day and then wind up dehydrated by my evening run!
ReplyDeleteI'm a total stalker/follower... :)
ReplyDeletecoffee or tea...whateva..
ReplyDeletehmmm...running song...Rabbit Heart by Florence + The Machine...love
ReplyDeleteHard lesson learned was not to wear cotton clothes on a blizzard run...dumb..dumb..dumb..not to mention cold
ReplyDeleteI already follow and worship you ;)
ReplyDeleteThe morning beverage I can't live without is diet coke, no matter what the brand name. I don't like hot drinks first thing in the morning. I never feel awake until I've had a cold soda.
ReplyDeleteWell, as you know I'm not running these days but a couple of my favorite Zen pick me up running songs are Jackson Browne's "Running on Empty" and REM's "End of the World As We Know It." Both are like, yeah you're gonna die but just keep on running!
ReplyDeleteThe running lesson I learned the hard way is to DO THE TRAINING. Followed closely by if you're in pain, go get it checked out. But gosh does my aircast look cute today with my running skirt!
ReplyDeleteI've been following you for a few weeks now
ReplyDeleteMorning beverage is always coffee with powdered (crap) creamer.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite running songs are "Footloose" by Kenny Loggins and "Rapid Roy" by Jim Croce, and I start every race with the William Tell Overture.
ReplyDeleteThese song choices sort of reflect my age...
My trick is the same as Rose's up there -
ReplyDeleteIt's only __ more miles. ANYONE can run __ miles!
Hard lesson - anything that comes in a foil pouch given during a race is gross and makes me want to hurl! I only consume water or something I bring myself during a race.
ReplyDeleteMy 6th comment (extra entry?!) is that I will be watching for you at races here in Eugene and nearby. I usually don't travel to races, because of the cost, but I love to run the little local races and see if I can place in my age group!
ReplyDeleteOkay...since I am connected to this blog and cannot win I am not going to follow the rules but I wanted to play anyway.
ReplyDelete1 - I follow you. Heck...I even get to spend the weekends with you...so that should count for something.
2 - Weekdays it is water at home then coffee at work and weekends it is coffee. Drinking Highland Grog right now...smells like maple syrup....so tasty.
3 - I am really enjoying Fitz and the Tantrums right now. And one of my favorite albums is Nas and Damian Marley - Distant Relatives.
4 - I don't race...so nothing here. But when I am running or ridding I just think that it will all be worth it when I am enjoying the beer that I just worked so hard for.
5 - Don't run in shorts that are too big...they tend to fall down and it gets annoying holding them up.
6 - Because I was Mr. Awesome! and now I am Biker Boy.
I follow you!!!!
ReplyDeleteAs a treat, I love the salted caramel hot chocolate at Starbuck's. I have to be careful before a run with these though :)
ReplyDeleteMy best trick is to find a good song on my iPod. I try to make sure they are all something I really like. Once I find it I just try to go with the beat and keep going.
ReplyDeleteFavorite song right now, Enrique Iglesias ~ Dirty Dancer. I'm working on a New Music Friday post right now.
ReplyDeleteAt the first Seattle RNR Half I have an unfortunate experience with Cytomax. I had tried it before but never ran with it. It made me extremely sick at mile 5. Needless to say, the rest of the race was miserable but I never stopped. About 10 minutes after I finished a port-a-potty and I had about a 20 minute date. Last year I just drank water and took salt tabs and did great.
ReplyDeleteBonus!!! I should totally win because I will be running 4 half marathons in 21 days in June. Wooohooo!!! The extra bonus will be I get to run my 4th one with you :)
ReplyDelete1. I worship/follow you. :)
ReplyDelete2. water or tea
ReplyDelete3. This is War by 30 Seconds to Mars. Love this song so much!
ReplyDelete4. and 5. Can't answer these yet, because I'm brand new to this running thing. :)
