OMG I am FREAKING Out!

 Seriously.... THIS

Better be worth THIS

Do you see #2?? Third behind LA and NY for WORST traffic. (I-5 is pretty much the only way for me to get there.) I am freaking out enough as it is about just getting to Seattle and being able to park without getting too terribly lost or side swiped by a crazy bus driver (saw that last time I was up there with my parents). This did NOT help.

I have my maps printed. I will start studying them tonight while I pack so that I know turn by turn what to do. Maybe I should look at the route with that fancy Google Earth looking map so I know what to watch out for. Am I going to get mugged? Carjacked? Run over? Heck, for this trip the running will be the easy part!

Stacie, Abby, if you ladies see me at the expo and wonder why I look all red and puffy ... it is because big city driving makes me want to cry! Ugh, my feet are in a cold sweat now.

*My 600th published post is me whining about traffic? Seriously??

It's too bad you are going to have to go next year too...

  2. Maybe you should pick someone up and have them drive you from outside the city?? :)
    Yes...big city, very scary.

  3. lol. I don't remember Seattle being THAT bad. I'd rank Boston and Chicago being worse...

  4. Go Huskies!

Seattle traffic is horrible during rush hour. I hope you can work out this crazy point to point half marathon.

When we did the half in Seattle in November, we stayed downtown and walked to the start. That one was easy peasy.

  5. I would be freaking out. I am a big chicken when it comes to city traffic. But you can do it!!

  6. Cougs rule -- Dawgs drool!!!

Now that that is out of my system... I-5 is bad and there are lots of commuters. Portland has nothing on Seattle for traffic messes. Seattle pedestrians are typically less likely to dive out in front of your car, however; in PDX we take "the pedestrian has the right of way" literally. And if you're driving a stick shift, there are lots and lots of HILLS in Seattle. If you get stuck at the top, do the parking brake trick so you don't roll back into anybody. Because then they will make fun of you.

Good luck this weekend! And REST your leg between now and then!!! A day or two off will revitalize your legs, not destroy your fitness :)

Deep breaths girl, deep breaths. You're gonna be fine!!!!! :-)

I drive in that crap day in and day out, it's not fun, but it's not life threatening.

    P.S. Congrats on 600 posts! That's great!

  8. Seriously? Third? I've been in four corners of these United States, and Boston has everyone beat for bad drivers. Now, this might be based on rush hour crazy, Seattle doesn't exactly have a lot of places they can put roads. The hardest thing you are going to face is 1st Ave's construction headaches. Find yourself a nice parking lot, and take the bus. Heck, if I wasn't being forced at gun point to go to my mother's birthday party on Saturday, I would offer to chauffeur you lovely women around.

But seriously, now that the Dawgs are off NCAA suspensions and can recruit again...the kittens to the East don't stand a chance. And with half of the Ducks needing a parole officer, don't really think I will have to endure too many "Quack Attacks" for a while either.

  9. Seattle traffic can be ridiculous!! Of course me sitting in a horrific traffic jam tonight probably sways my opinion. And while it is bad - I don't know that I would consider it third worse.

  10. Don't stress! Just jam out to music.
    I'm jealous you're driving. I miss driving.

  13. You'll be just fine. I grew up in a small town, but living in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area has made me accustomed to big city driving. Some of the other bloggers are correct... Boston and Chicago are much worse for traffic. Can you head to Seattle during non-peak traffic times?
