The Last Supper - Enchanted Garden

It is with much sadness that I write about our final dinner while sailing on the Disney Dream. I hate when vacations end, but this was especially hard! Our final night was lovely, and bittersweet. We learned that both of our servers were being promoted up the food chain - food chain, get it?!? - so we were happy that we got to experience them as our serving team before their time as a duo came to an end.

Enchanted Garden was the setting for our last meal. It felt like eating on Main Street USA to me. And a little bit of Hello, Dolly tossed in as well! As was the case every night, we were the first people to arrive at our table - which kind of surprised me because we were a tad later than normal due to a NEED to meet Captain Mickey and then freeze Donald Duck with Katura's Elsa powers! Thanks to a mid-dinner potty trip I was able to get some nice interior shots without all of the guests swarming in. When you do arrive for dinner the hall is lined with servers waiting to escort you to your table. It always felt so swanky! I'm not used to feeling so darn special in a restaurant! So allow me now to give you a little walk through to our table! (This means I didn't get as many food shots as normal, so here is scenery instead.)

Isn't that quite the sight?? I loved it! You really didn't feel like you were on deck 2 of huge cruise ship! We aren't total royalty, so we didn't get one of those cool booths, but we had a lovely table nonetheless.

In pure princess fashion, Katura was of course seated first! One little girl having three adults make sure she was comfortable and able to reach her menu, crayons and water. Oh she's not spoiled at all!

And there you are, welcome to dinner with us at table 108!

First up, you know what it is... Bread Service. Multi grain and country currant rolls with chickpea-garlic puree. The bread was just fine. Nothing fancy, but I didn't care, I still loved it! And that hummus - or chickpea-garlic puree as we call it there - was absolutely delicious!! Maybe my favorite part of my entire dinner actually.

I'm not sure why I slacked, but I have no idea what Shawn had for his appetizer/soup/salad. No photos and no memory recollection. This is so unlike me! Wait!! Upon reading the menu I remember what he got. Pretend it looked really pretty. He chose the North Atlantic Lobster Ravioli with roasted garlic and sweet basil in a tomato broth!  I chose the Heirloom Tomato Soup with sour cream, croutons and basil. Mine came without croutons, but that's okay. This was also offered as a main entree for the vegetarian menu, but I chose the standard soup version. It was really, really good. A lovely flavor and smooth texture!
Next up, and I hand my head in shame with what I'm going to show you, our Main Course. This restaurant had the biggest selection of vegetarian dishes. Absolutely none of them appealed to me. Maybe I was just tired. I mean this was the last day of the cruise after a full Walt Disney World vacation. My brain was fried, my body was worn out. So maybe I just needed comfort food, I don't know. But I can show you what Katura and I both ordered in one photo... Macaroni and Cheese. Katura didn't want her veggies or steak fries - so I assisted. Linval also brought me out a plate of steamed vegetables, without my even asking, so I could have something to go with it. He is just the best! So there, it happened. I ordered kid food. Are we really all that surprised?

But don't worry, Shawn didn't let us down! He went for the Slow roasted prime rib served with thyme-roasted vegetables, double-baked potato, natural au jus and horseradish. I'm sure he liked it. I think the way we sat this time is why I didn't pay as much attention to everything. I was on the outside and busy people watching, and being a mom taking a girl to the bathroom. A lot of multi-tasking!

And now the round of food we all look forward to, and try not to get too full to enjoy... dessert! Katura and Ariana both chose the Mickey Premium bar one last time - both preferring to NOT have the Mickey Mouse sprinkles on it. (They bring it to them in a bowl, with colorful sprinkles on top that easily shake off.)

A very popular dessert choice for our table was the Chocolate Brownie Sundae - peanut butter brownie bites with rich chocolate ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate fudge sauce. WOW! Check out the little piece of chocolate on top - it says Happy Holidays!

And while I may have been boring with the rest of my meal, I feel like I made a fun, colorful choice with my dessert. I had the Orange Yogurt Cake with citrus syrup and vanilla sauce. This was really unique! Katura, of course, helped me with the candy and chocolate pieces. and she stole my raspberry! Clearly I'm not going to scold her for stealing and eating fruit! Look at that lovely presentation. You sure don't get that at Dairy Queen!

On this night we had the sad chore of saying good bye to our serving team. We were able to give them their tips - so they probably really liked us after that! ;) I will certainly miss Linval and Alejandro when we take our next cruise. Who knows, maybe we will get lucky and see them again some day. With Disney you just never know!
