WDWCP97 Journal. Day 30.

Date: October 9, 1997 

Places: Magic Kingdom, Pleasure Island

People: Jamie, Marcy, Sarah, Carlos, Dan, Quame, a guy named Andy, a guy at the Beach Club's bar

Sights: Tom Sawyer Island, Tomorrowland, Fantasy in the Sky

Dining: Grilled cheese/fries - Fantasyland, ABCs & 123s w/croutons

Lodging: Vista Way

I had today off, so Jamie & I went to the Magic Kingdom after we finished our laundry. It was very hot. First thing at MK, we watched the Country Bear Jamboree. Since it empties out into Pecos, I got to talk to my Carlos. I heard from Marcy that he was so happy about that, he ran back & told her he saw me. Aww, cute. He really was adorable, and 35 doesn't sound so old now! 

Jamie & I went to the Welcome Center, got 2 badges & a poster. My poster was on my wall at Vista Way and then framed and in my room here at home! It was like the 2 guys were racing to give us our posters. In the tunnel we saw one of the guys - he looked at us like he should know us; very funny. 

We visited Sarah at work & got our paychecks. We covered basically every land but Toontown. There are cool things here - corny, but cool. I saw my Carlos again, & got pictures of him, Dan & Marcy at work. The pictures are going to be hysterical. Jamie & I made it to the bus stop in time to see the fireworks - good view! So that would be from behind the Magic Kingdom, still on Disney property at the Cast Member parking lot.

I talked to Mommy & both of us are excited about her coming here. Marcy, Sarah, Jamie & I went on the midnight shuttle to PI. Okay - I watch Jersey Shore religiously. They always start their night so late and it seems crazy to me... but apparently I did it, too! Ha! At the Beach Club bar some guy (Andy) came up to Marcy & I and kissed us both on the cheek as a Happy New Year thing. It wasn't even a peck -> slow. This is 2 weeks in a row I've been kissed at PI. I disliked it, but in 1997 I was too shy to say something. That wouldn't fly with 21 year old Ronda. Trust me, been there, done that, dudes got their asses chewed!!

 

Nobody was really there. I saw Dan & it took forever to get over to him, but I did. Quame, John & Benji were there. Of course John didn't give us the time of day. Benji smiled and waved like he usually does and Quame grabbed my hand and put his arm around me. The DJ played the Time Warp! Fun! 

After we figured out the Beach Club was getting lame, we went outside. Everyone was out there. We found Jamie & then watched the music videos on the stage area. I saw Bassey, but I didn't get to talk to him. The shuttle crowd was huge, so Marcy & I walked to the parking lot and ended up hitching a ride with a guy named Andy. We thought it was Stacey from a distance, but it wasn't. Sarah, Jamie & I crammed into the back with the guy's baby seat. Oh well - we got home, didn't we?!?!

OH MY GOSH, that is cracking me up!! A dude takes home four girls..... with his baby seat in the car. Smooth!

Oh boy - tomorrow's journal entry - I remember this day. Sauerkraut has never been the same to me since.
